AngkorChat, similar to Korea's KakaoTalk, is equipped with a business platform that generates profits once users are secured. Union Mobile announced that they are conducting final tests for AngkorChat, which is known as the national messenger of Cambodia, in preparation for its service launch this May. Furthermore, by rolling out various ICT platforms and content ecosystems such as mobile advertising, banking, shopping, and OTT, Union Mobile is committed to enhancing Cambodia's telecommunication infrastructure. From May 15th, 2022, they have been jointly advancing the Cambodian national communication project, including AngkorChat, with the Cambodian central government. As part of these plans, the company has accelerated its preparations by recruiting Dr. Lee Duk-Hoon, who holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana Purdue University. A representative from Union Mobile expressed optimism, saying, "With the addition of Dr. Lee Duk-Hoon, who formerly served as the head of the Export-Import Bank and was a guest professor at the Free University of Berlin, Germany, his experience combined with Union Mobile's technical expertise has laid the foundation for ICT technology exports and the expansion of electronic finance in the Southeast Asian market."
