Union Mobile announced on the 11th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with EVC Networks for entering the charging business for electric cars, electric motorcycles, and electric tuk-tuks in Cambodia. Through this agreement, both companies plan to secure a solid position in the initial market for electric vehicles, including electric cars, motorcycles, and tuk-tuks in Cambodia, utilizing Union Mobile's network in the country. They also intend to leverage the technical expertise of EVC Networks, which is currently engaged in an electric vehicle charging project in Los Angeles, USA. Union Mobile operates the Cambodian national messenger platform, AngkorChat. AngkorChat is an integrated mobile platform based on messaging, offering entertainment, mobile lifestyle convenience, and productivity improvements. AngkorChat plans to extend its services to the electric vehicle charging payment market through the integration with its upcoming payment function, AngkorPay. EVC Networks is a company based in Los Angeles, USA, pioneering innovative projects in the electric vehicle charging and clean truck center construction sectors. Currently, EVC Networks has contracts to supply electric vehicle chargers at The Source OC in Buena Park and three other locations.
